I will check my rims for a good bead on both the inner and outer
sides. I will check the rims are not damaged, cracked, or bent and that they have
not been welded or drilled.
I will check that all lug nuts are present, not cracked or
distorted, and show not signs of looseness such as rust trails or blacking on steel rims,
bluing or shininess on aluminum rims, or shiny threads.
I will check hub oil seals are not leaking, and if wheel has a
sight glass that the oil level is adequate. Without a sight glass, I would insert a
finger and oil should be to the first knuckle. If needed, I would add 90 Weight gear
oil to specification.
In the rear, I would check the axle seals the same way.
