Under the tractor
- I will check my drive shaft is not cracked, bent or broken and is free of debris.
- I will check my universal joints are properly mounted and secure and that they are lubed.
Fifth wheel
- I will check the 5th wheel platform and slide are properly mounted and secure, no missing bolts or broken welds.
- I will check there is no gap between the 5th wheel skid plate and my apron and the skid plate is lubed.
- I will check the safety latch is properly mounted and secured and not cracked or broken.
- I will check the release handle is in place and not cracked or broken.
- I will check the locking pins on slide are properly mounted and secure and not cracked or broken.
- I will check the king pin is properly mounted secure is not cracked or broken.
- I will check the locking jaws are in correct position, properly mounted and secure and not cracked or broken.
