OUR PHILOSOPHY

Over the years, California Career School has developed and maintained close working relationships with employers and various funding agencies such as the Workforce Investment Act, Vocational Rehabilitation, the Employment Development Department and the Veterans Administration to assist individuals seeking training and employment. Our reputation for quality service and a high success rate has been acknowledged by numerous training and placement awards. California Career School programs have proven, time and again, to provide dedicated men and women with the knowledge and skills demanded by today’s job market.

California Career School is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and approved by the Council for Private-Postsecondary and Vocational Education. The Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency.

SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY

We believe our training should respond to the needs of the industry by preparing men and women alike with “hands on” training directed toward practical applications. Students are supervised by qualified, experienced instructors and will have the opportunity to train with modern equipment commonly used in the industry.

Along with a comprehensive curriculum, California Career School has established a policy of school discipline and protocol that provides a no-nonsense learning environment. This is done to better assure that our graduates will be prepared with the kind of work ethic that is so highly valued.

ADMISSIONS POLICY & PROCEDURE

Prospective students are invited to interview with one of our admissions representatives. During the interview, the representative will detail the course content, discuss the school’s philosophies as well as inquire of the applicant’s career goals to better determine if California Career School’s program can meet that need. Included in the interview will be an entrance exam, a tour of the school and a thorough review of the applicant’s employability following training.

Upon evaluation of the entrance exam results and the admission officer’s recommendations, the prospective student’s application will either be accepted or rejected.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Various agencies offer tuition paid training to students who qualify. California Career School also offers financing. See Agencies on our Tuition Assistance page.

Thank you!

Steve attended the Truck Driving Program at California Career School at our Orange County California Campus and graduated at the end of April 2009, & by July 2009, he was fully employed. He dropped by our corporate office the other day to show us his new truck from Legacy Transportation. We are proud of Steve for completing his training with us and want to thank Legacy Transportation for giving Steve the opportunity to become a great employee for them.

Way to go Steve!
Sincerely,
Chuck!

“I came to California Career School in March of 2009 and completed the Commercial Truck Driving class. I had been working as a parts manager for the last 8 years and was laid off when my company downsized. I went to the Work Force center looking for help to get back into the job market. Since I had driven a truck many years ago, I decided I would like to get my class A license again. I knew I needed to be retrained, so I chose California Career School because I had been to the school for a visit. As soon as I saw the Kenworth 10 gear trucks with the full size 48 foot trailers, I knew this was the school for me. My training was 240 hours and the instructors prepared me for an immediate pass on my first time at the DMV.

After I got my CDL, I was turned down by several companies because I guess they thought I was too old. The school’s placement department kept working with me until I found a job with Legacy Transportation making an awesome salary. I’m very impressed by all the caring staff at the school. Everyone there encouraged me during my training and celebrated my final success.”

Thank you California Career School for all your help,
Steve Welton

Recently I attended your school as a new hire for G4S Wackenhut Transport wherein we were required to learn how to drive an MC-12 bus.

For me, learning the “COLA” and everything else relative to passing the Class B DMV test was the hardest thing I ever did! I had many difficulties learning the written material and going through the skills test and, as a point of fact, I failed the DMV skills test the first time I took it.

However, your instructors, Russell in particular, exhibited wonderful patience and a willingness to work with me and get me to overcome my challenges and in the end I passed the DMV test, acquired my Class B license and am now working as an armed transport officer.

I would also like to commend, Brandon, Robert, and Donnavin, for their excellent teaching skills and participation in getting my entire class through this course.

Kudos to you and a pat on the back to these terrific gentlemen.

Continued future success to all of you!

Amanda Smith stands in front of her fire truck on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base as she thanks the CCS instructors for helping her obtain her CDL license which enabled her to secure her civilian firefighter job.

Congratulations Amanda, and good luck in your new career!

” As my time in the Marine Corps was coming to an end, I decided that I wanted to further my firefighter career in the civilian side. Obtaining my class A license became a priority. I first went to another school that offered a class A license and after only attending a couple of weeks I dreaded going to class and began to doubt I would obtain my license. Because of personal reasons I had to drop the school and postpone getting my license.
About six months later I met with one of the recruiters from California Career Schools and just from speaking to him for fifteen minutes my confidence was back to obtain my class A. After going to class and meeting the instructors I realized how fun learning to drive a tractor and trailer could be. The instructors at CCS were always there to answer questions and always made going to school fun and stress free.

I would recommend CCS to any and all individuals interested in obtaining their Class A. I had to go through the hassle of dealing with another school and wouldn’t want someone else to make the same mistake. I thank all the instructors and CCS personnel on my class A success.”

Sincerely,
Amanda Smith

Congrats to the Zimmerman team for their recent success driving for Auron Trucking, a subcontractor for FedEx. Chris and Leslie are two of our newest students driving our success. Chris Zimmerman, a former U.S. Navy sailor and his beautiful wife Leslie sent this testimonial to our Southern California Truck Driving School.

Chris Zimmerman was stationed at the 32nd Street Naval Station in San Diego, but when faced with staying in the US Navy or getting out, he was not sure what he wanted to do next in his life. Tired of being away from his family he spoke with another US Navy Sailor who had success getting his truck driving career off the ground after he got his Commercial Truck Driving License through California Career School. Chris then took the next step of enrolling at California Career School in Southern California, near the Naval Station on 32nd St in San Diego California, in January while on active duty. When he transitioned out of the military, he already had a job at FedEx waiting for him. Shortly after, he saw the opportunity to make $100,000 plus as a team driving with his wife.

This was a great opportunity for his wife Leslie to spend some time with him as well as have her own career. She decided to attend California Career School, got her Commercial Truck Driving License, and is now driving a big rig with her husband as a team.

A Perfect Plan comes together with help from California Career School!

Congrats!!

Chuck!

“The reason I decided to go to California Career School is because my husband had attended the school and really enjoyed it! California Career School also has the best reputation we found, it has great job placement opportunities, awesome instructors and professional atmosphere. As a woman coming into a “man’s world”
I was nervous but everyone made me feel just like another student. It was refreshing on the nerves!

Now my husband and I have great jobs and get to be together.
We love it!”
